Artist

Welcome to the vibrant world of Shelley Catherine Frankling, a multimedia artist with a lifelong passion for bringing creativity to life. Born and raised in the picturesque landscapes of Alberta, Shelley’s artistic journey has taken her through the immersive realm of multimedia, guiding her towards the world of illustration.

Shelley, also known by her enchanting pen name, Wild Rosie, honed her artistic skills at the Emily Carr University during her post-secondary education, laying the foundation for a career that seamlessly blends her love for nature, wildlife, and the visual arts. For over a decade, she has called the breathtaking Bow Valley home, finding inspiration in the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds her.

Shelley’s artistic pursuits took a captivating turn when her son was born in the heart of Banff. Devoted to his education she would begin noticing whenever they travelled far from Canada, he would draw all the animals from his “home”. As an artist embracing motherhood, she embarked on a passionate exploration of illustration, adopting the pen name “Wild Rosie” specifically to focus on capturing the wonders of the natural world through the eyes of a child.

Shelley invites you to explore the wonders of nature through these drawings. Immerse yourself in the intricate details of her illustrations, where each stroke tells a story, and each image captures the essence of the wild.

It brings me joy to offer a piece of my heart, inspired by the Canadian Rockies. My hope is that these illustrations come alive with the memories and colors each child brings to them.
